Summer fun returns to West Lancashire with the Green Fayre
The Green Fayre returns to Beacon Country Park in Up Holland on July 19 and 20, 2025 (11am to 5pm).
The free, family-friendly event will include a programme of live shows, displays and demonstrations for visitors to enjoy. These will be complemented by a wide range of stalls and exhibits in the show's marquee highlighting West Lancashire’s rural heritage and landscapes, traditional crafts and countryside living.
Highlights to look out for at the show include:
- The working woodlands, where visitors can witness local skilled craftsmen and artisan experts demonstrate traditional and unusual techniques, such as leather-working, weaving, bodging and chain-saw carving
- Interactive Viking Village with a variety of displays, including a traditional longboat, giving an insight into life in the area 1000 years ago
- The shows Arena featuring dog agility, birds of prey and Viking battles
Additional family-focused activities include a mobile farm, donkey rides, traditional funfair rides and arts and craft workshops, while visitors can also tap into their adventurous side and have a go at axe-throwing and target shooting.
A variety of food vendors will be available on both days serving everything from gourmet burgers, pizzas and fish and chips to cakes, pastries and sweet treats. There will also be a fully licensed bar in the showground providing a range of refreshments.
Councillor Carl Coughlan, lead member for Leisure, said: "The Green Fayre is one of the highlights of West Lancashire's brilliant and diverse events calendar.
“This event is a great opportunity for the community to come together and learn how small changes can lead to a more sustainable future.
“There’s going to be something for all ages to enjoy, which makes it a truly family-friendly event, with an eco-twist.
“Beacon Country Park is the perfect location for this event, with the welcoming Coppice Cafe and bar complimenting the food and drink offer from our guest vendors.”
