Greener Future Sticker Competition

Thank you to all school and pupils that submitted entries to the competition. The entries were judged anonymously by our judging panel who decided the winner and 3 runners up below.

The winning design and 3 runner up designs will be announced by the Mayor at the Green Fayre event at Beacon Country Park this Saturday 23rd July at 1:30pm, and will be on display throughout the event on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July.

Winner - Lizzie Ascroft, aged 8, Mere Brow Primary School

Runner up 1 - Lucy Makin, aged 9, Crawford Village Primary School

Runner up 2 - Sophia Saunders, aged 7, Crawford Village Primary School

Runner up 3 - Cooper Martindale, aged 9, Mere Brow Primary School

The competition sits in tandem with our Green Fayre event, our countryside festival to celebrate all things countryside living. This year the theme is 'Greener Future', and all of our traders are committed to using zero single-use plastic. To support our green agenda, we want to promote learning around sustainability, recycling, and the environment with local schools across the Borough.

The winning entry will be printed onto stickers and provided to every child in the school, alongside 4x A4 printed stickers and 4x A3 posters to be displayed in the school. We will also provide a £50 book voucher to supply learning resources to the winning pupil's school, to support further learning around recycling, the environment and sustainability.
