Empty homes review

The Council has a duty to maintain accurate records for Council Tax to ensure that allowances, discounts or relief are claimed correctly. To ensure that our records are accurate and upto date and to enable us to determine those properties that remain empty or have recently became occupied, we are currently carrying out an empty homes review.

If you receive a letter you must get in touch within 7 days to inform us if the property in question is occupied. If we do not receive a response, an inspection of the property may be carried out.

  • By email: complete and sign the form enclosed with your letter email to  Council.Tax@westlancs.gov.uk   include in the subject line 'Council Tax Empty Homes Review'
  • Drop into one of our Customer Service Points: The Concourse, Skelmersdale or 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk
  • Mail to: Revenues Service, West Lancashire Borough Council, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk L39 2DF
