Council tax

Council tax applies to all domestic properties, whether owned or rented. It is used to help pay for the local services such as refuse collection, policing, roads and schools. It is collected on behalf of the Borough Council, Lancashire County Council, Lancashire Police Authority, Lancashire Combined Fire Authority and some parish councils.

Enter the nine digits of your council tax reference number to find out your balance, band and annual charge. (If your reference number contains any letters, these must be entered as capitals.) No personal information, such as your name and address, is given.

 

Office opening hours

From the 3 April 2017 we are introducing a new appointment based enquiry service at 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk available on a Monday and Friday between 9.30am and 1.30pm. To make an appointment please contact the Revenues and Benefits Service on 0300 790 0381 or email council.tax@westlancs.gov.uk request an appointment. Alternatively you can make an appointment at the reception desk in the Council Offices, Derby Street.

If you don't need an appointment you can deposit any necessary documentation into the post box at the main Council Office building at Derby Street, Ormskirk and these will be returned to you by post. Alternatively you can email your proofs to council.tax@westlancs.gov.uk
