Animal Welfare Information
The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 require anyone selling animals as pets (or with a view to their being later resold as pets) in the course of a business including keeping animals in the course of a business with a view to their being so sold or resold requires a licence.
The Council inspects all licensed premises, which may include a veterinary surgeon or practitioner. If the inspection is satisfactory the licence will be granted for 1, 2 or 3 years and provided with a star rating.
