Customer Services / Telephone Enquiries
The Customer Contact Centre will close at 12 noon on Friday 22nd December 2023 and will re-open at 8.30am on Tuesday 2nd January 2024. The phone number remains the same for emergency calls when the offices are closed: 01695 577177.
Customer Service Points Derby Street, Ormskirk and Concourse Shopping Centre Skelmersdale:
The Customer Service Point at Derby Street will close at 12 noon on Friday 22nd December 2023 and will re-open at 9am on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.
The Customer Service Point at the Concourse Shopping Centre will close at 3pm on Thursday 21st December 2023 and will reopen at 10am on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.
PLEASE NOTE: Any customer feedback that is received after the 21st December 2023 will be actioned on the 2nd January 2024.
Revenues and Benefits Service:
The Revenues and Benefits Service will close at 12 noon on Friday 22nd December 2023 and re-open at 8.30am Tuesday 2nd January 2024. You can still make payments during this period by visiting the Council’s website www.westlancs.gov.uk/payabill or using the automated telephone payment line which is available 24 hours a day on 01695 585150.
Refuse and Recycling:
Over the Christmas period your grey, blue and green bin waste collection dates have changed. The revised collection dates are as follows:
Tuesday 26th December 2023 will now take place on Wednesday 27th December 2023
Wednesday 27th December 2023 will now take place on Thursday 28th December 2023
Thursday 28th December 2023 will now take place on Friday 29th December 2023
Friday 29th December 2023 will now take place on Saturday 30th December 2023
Please note that all brown bin collections will be suspended week commencing Monday 25th December 2023 and week commencing Monday 1st January 2024. Normal service will resume on Tuesday 9th January 2024.
Housing Services:
During Christmas and the New Year Holiday period, the Housing Repairs Service will be available as follows:
- Day-to-day housing repairs and gas heating repairs (including air source and electric heating) will be available as normal up until 12noon on Friday, December 22, 2023. From 12noon on Friday, December 22 to 8.30am on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 - we will be carrying out EMERGENCY repairs only. Normal repair services will resume from 8.30am on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Car Parks:
From Friday 1st December until Saturday 23rd December, 8 Council-managed Pay and Display car parks in Ormskirk town centre will receive an additional two hours free parking.
This means you can pay just £1 to park for up to five hours instead of three. This excludes Derby Street Council Offices and the bus station car park, which will remain closed until 2024. Find details of the free car parks here: www.westlancs.gov.uk/parking
Car parking on Sundays and Bank Holidays will continue to be free of charge.
