Annual Monitoring

The Annual Monitoring Report, or 'Authority Monitoring Report' (AMR) has a number of key functions, including:

  • Reporting on a wide range of topics including population, the economy, health, climate change and housing.
  • Measuring the Council's progress in preparing various planning policy documents. 
  • Monitoring whether our Local Plan policies are achieving their purpose.
  • Reporting on any planning policy-related consultation we've undertaken.

2022 AMR

The 2022 AMR was published in May 2023 and covers the period of 1 April 2021 - 31 March 2022. A new monitoring report is currently being prepared for the 2022 - 2023 period.

The Council is required to consider what actions to take for the Biodiversity Duty under the Environment Act 2021:
