Charitable collections

COVID-19 : whilst many services are operating normally, we are still operating under Covid-19 protocols and therefore changes have been made to the Council's licensing processes, including a requirement to submit applications and supporting information electronically to avoid potential delay.

Charitable collections incorporate any activity that is intended to raise funds for charitable, benevolent or philanthropic purposes, and includes the collection of money and the sale of goods for a charitable purpose in a public place. We will handle any information provided to us in accordance with our Privacy Notice (PDF, 416kb).

Charities and lotteries are licensed to make sure their activities are legitimate and that all funds are accounted for. Such activities include the control of street collections and house-to-house collections.
