Waste Management Service Driver/Team Leaders

We are currently looking to have registered highly motivated, flexible and skilled Driver/Team Leaders that can join the Waste Management Service at WLBC.  For this role you would need to have an LGV driving licence and current CPC certification, excellent customer service skills, the ability to lead a team, and the ability to provide a safe and effective waste collection service to our residents and commercial customers Boroughwide.  Based at the Robert Hodge Centre, in Skelmersdale, the role operates a compressed working pattern of 36 hours over a 4 day working week from Tuesday-Friday.  6.30am-4.15pm.

Waste Management Loaders

We are currently looking to have registered, highly motivated Waste Management Loaders who can provide a safe and effective refuse / recycling collection service.  You'll need excellent customer service skills, be able to remain calm in stressful situations, have the ability to work well under pressure and use your own initiative,, the ability to work well with others and to be thorough and pay attention to detail.  Based at the Robert Hodge Centre, in Skelmersdale, the role operates a compressed working pattern of 36 hours over a four-day working week from Tuesday-Friday.  6.30am - 4.15pm.

Clean and Green Operatives

We are currently seeking to register a number of pipeline Clean and Green Operatives who can join our Clean and Green Service based at the Robert Hodge Centre in Skelmersdale.  As a Clean and Green Operative you will work as part of a team to provide a high quality environmental maintenance service, including both planned and reactive work for all aspects of street cleansing and grounds maintenance functions. Depending on your experience and driving licences (Licence B and B1 required to drive) you may be required to drive a range of Council owned vehicles including vans, tipper vans and link tips in addition to towing trailers commensurate with licence certification and appropriate training. You will also use a full range of handheld plant with walk behind plant and machinery including pedestrian mowers, strimmer's, hedge trimmers, again commensurate with certification and/or successful completion of appropriate training.  You will have experience of working as part of a manual operational service and have the ability to undertake tasks as directed to a high standard with continual commitment to health and safety and adherence to policy and procedures.  Ideally you will have experience of operating commercial handheld grounds maintenance and street cleansing equipment e.g. mowers, strimmer, hedge trimmers and blowers, however this is not essential as training will be given.  Hours of work are 7.45am to 3.45pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 1.45pm Friday. You may be required to work outside of these hours on occasions to meet the needs of the service.
