Green Fayre

What is the Green Fayre?

The Green Fayre is a celebration of the countryside and countryside living. There are a range of stalls and activities providing fun and entertainment for the 1000's of visitors who flock to the show each year. 

Where and when?

The show is held at Beacon Country Park in Upholland, WN8 7RU. The next show will take place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July 2025. The show will be open from 11am until 5pm each day. 

How much does it cost?

Both entry to the show and car parking is FREE to visitors. But don't forget your wallets as there are plenty of things to see, do and buy once you get here!

The Arena Line up for this years show is as follows

West Lancs Dog Display Team

Our canine chums at West Lancs Dog Display Team have been regulars at the Green Fayre for over a decade wowing the crowds with their agility displays and drills. They are always a crowd faviourite and we are delighted that they will be returning once again at this years show.

SMJ Falconry

Also returning to the arena are the wonderful SMJ Falconry. The team at SMJ have years of experience providing flying displays all over the country and with 50 different birds to choose from for their display they are always sure to offer up something different. As well as providing 2 flying displays in the arena each day they will also have a static display throughout the show giving visitors a chance to meet the birds.

If that wasn't enough SMJ will also be bringing their Ferret Racing display offering visitors a chance to learn more about these fascinating animals.

Croix du Nord - Regia Anglorum

Completing this years line up are Croix du Nord - the shows resident Viking hoard. They will be storming the arena twice daily displaying their fearsome viking weaponry and battle drills and showing visitors just how gruesome viking combat can be. Their arena displays are just a tiny part of CrN's offer at the show as they will be providing an entire Viking hamlet for visitors to explore complete with an authentic viking longboat!

Working woodlands and craft demonstrations

The heart of the Green Fayre belongs with its craft and working woodlands displays. There are a variety of different exhibitors and traders showcasing a wide range of traditional crafts and techniques, working natural materials into products and goods that we use in day-to-day life.

Phil Howard - Clog Maker

Phil is a traditional clog maker who repairs and makes clogs from scratch - crafting each part of the clog himself. He will also be making tent pegs at the show.

Greenwood Twiggs

Twiggy is a local coppice worker who manages a wide range of coppice 'coops' across the Northwest including those at our flagship countryside site, Beacon Country Park. She will be demonstrating a variety of coppice crafts at the show.

Pip Cottage

Julie from Pip Cottage will be attending the show demonstrating the wonderful skills and techniques involved in basket making and willow craft.

Phill Gregson

Fourth Generation Master Wheelwright Phill Gregson will be at the show. Phill will be demonstrating the many skills required to build and maintain traditional wooden wheels.

SMN Tree Care

Local tree surgeon and craftsperson Steve Nicholls will be attending with his portable sawmill and demostrating how trees are processed to produce every day timbers

Acorn Woodcraft

Kirkham based Chainsaw Artist James Shelliker will be at the show wowing visitors with his chainsaw carving displays. James carved the onsite sculptures that can be found in the woodlands at Beacon Country Park.

Lakeland coppice Products

Ian is a show regular and will be attending once again this year. He will be demonstrating the making of thatching spars at the show.

The Coppice Co-op

Sam from the Coppice Co-op will be attending the show demonstrating Hazel/Willow woven plank obelisks.

Chevin Fencing - Horse Loggers

After being a hit at the 2024 show the wonderful Horselogging team from Chevin Fencing will be returning to the show demonstrating how vital the horses can be when access is a bit tricky!

Ruby Ferguson - Blacksmith

Lancashire based Blacksmith Ruby specialises in historical ironwork and will be demostrating forgework at the show.

Grown Again Coppice Crafts

Duncan from Grown again will be back at the 2025 show. He will be demonstrating traditional fencing methods at the show.

Helen Clarke

Helen is another of the local Coppice workers who works tirelessly to manage and maintain the areas of coppice woodland that can be found at Beacon Country Park. Helen will be demonstrating Sussex Pimp making at the show.

Morgan Leather

Tony can be found in the shows marquee demonstrating wonderfully intricate leathercrafts.

Animal displays

There are a wide range of interactive animal displays and demonstrations at the show. The show is also attended by a range of wildlife and animal welfare charities and organisations providing you with more information on how you can help look after animals both at home and in the wild.

Fishers Mobile Farm

The mobile farm will be back at this years show allowing visitors to get a closer look at a variety of domestic farm year animals. There will be plenty of experts around the display to provide you will plenty of information about the animals and the work that goes into their care.

SMJ Falconry

Alwood Donkeys will be at the show offering Donkey rides to our younger visitors.

Tyto and friends

Tyto and friends are an rescue centre who house and look after a range of owls and other birds. They will be bringing some of the birds to meet our visitors.

There is loads for families to do at the show. As well as all the crafts and exhibits.
