Station Approach

Station approach

Station Approach was adopted by the Parks and Countryside service in 2016. The site previously marked the starting point of the Ormskirk - Skelmersdale branch line, and housed a goods yard and engine shed.

Today the area has been handed over to nature, with a mix of woodland and grassland habitats providing homes for Station approach - spidera wide range of wildlife.

The site benefits from a network of hard-standing paths - making it a pleasant place for a stroll any time of the year. Keep an eye out for our collection of wooden chainsaw-carved sculptures!

How to find us

Accessibility

Our Parks and Countryside Service work hard to manage and maintain all of our sites to ensure that they are accessible and safe for all their visitors. However, while using the trails, you may encounter uneven surfaces, debris, or other obstacles. If you have any concerns or suggestions about how we can improve access to the site or you require further information, please contact the Ranger Service via 01695 622794 or beacon.park@westlancs.gov.uk.
