Green Fayre welcomed back to Beacon Country Park

  • Festival back after two-year hiatus
  • Green Fayre a celebration of the countryside
  • Exhibitors and stall holders commit to no single use plastics

The Borough's famous Green Fayre is back for 2022!

Taking place this weekend (23 & 24 July), the Green Fayre is a celebration of the countryside and countryside living and 1000's of visitors flock to the show each year.

Held at Beacon Country Park in Upholland, there will be exciting shows and displays showcasing the wonderful activities and heritage that the Lancashire countryside has to offer.

The heart of the Green Fayre is the working woodlands where local craft folk demonstrate a wide range of traditional skills and techniques, working natural materials into products and goods that we use in day-to-day life.

For animal lovers, there will be a range of wildlife and animal welfare charities and organisations giving tips on how you can help look after animals both at home and in the wild, as well as demonstrating dog agility skills and the majesty of birds of prey.

Visit our living history Viking encampment and wander through the tented village to find out more about how day-to-day Viking life used to be, then watch as the resident vikings battle in the show's arena – if you're brave enough!

Councillor Carl Coughlan, portfolio holder for Leisure is looking forward to the event: "After two years without this incredible event, I'm delighted it's back. It's one of the best countryside shows around and always a really enjoyable weekend, packed with fun, food and fascinating displays and exhibitions.

"The green agenda is a priority for the Council, so the exhibitors and stall holders committing to not using single use plastics is wonderful to hear and a fantastic step forward to a greener, brighter future for the show."

As well as all the crafts and exhibits there is a full range of adventurous activities for you to try; climbing, abseiling, paintballing, archery and bushcrafts as well as bouncy castles, trampolines, donkey rides and traditional funfair rides.

This year's show will also  include a range of music, dance, art and outdoor theatre displays to bring the show alive with creativity.

If you’re a foodie, we'll have a little slice of food heaven with gourmet burgers, Lancashire game, hog roast, specialist vegetarian/vegan cuisine and fajitas to tickle everyone's tastebuds along with a variety of stalls selling pies, cakes, preserves and sweet treats.

Don’t miss this fantastic countryside event, packed-full of fun, food, activities and displays!

Well-behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are kept under close control.
