Collection Day changes

The Council has reviewed the current refuse and recycling collection service and is introducing changes to provide an improved and efficient service which ensures value for money to all our residents, as the number of properties across the Borough increases. This is called Route Optimisation and by making a number of changes to collection days, the Council will continue to be able to collect your refuse and recycling on a fortnightly basis.

From the week commencing 11 November 2019, we are implementing changes to some collections including a change of day, change of week and split collections – i.e. the refuse and the recycling bins will be collected on one day and the garden waste bin will be collected on a different day.

An information pack will be sent through the post to any West Lancashire residents affected by these changes. We have also issued a new collection calendar and a sticker to be placed on each bin to help remind residents when to put their bins out.
