Council tax applies to all domestic properties, whether owned or rented. It is used to help pay for the local services such as refuse collection, policing, roads and schools. It is collected on behalf of the Borough Council, Lancashire County Council, including Adult Social Care, Lancashire Police Authority, Lancashire Combined Fire Authority and some parish councils.
Council Tax Rebate:
We want to reassure residents that we have now received the Government guidance on how to administer the complex and large-scale task of issuing the rebate and are working hard behind the scenes undertaking the necessary testing of new software. Once this has concluded, we will begin issuing payments as soon as we can. More information will be made available on our webpage once the scheme is finalised.
